With his depth of experience in tennis, Jason comes to us from Las Vegas, NV where he has resided for the last 15 years. Throughout college, he played for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and also the University of Portland. He graduated from UNLV with a bachelor’s in Business Management and Marketing. He also attended Lake Oswego High School where he was a state champion in doubles in 1992. Jason is USPTA certified. Jason is excited to meet the members of the club and to be part of the team. Kay joined our team in August of 2010, bringing with her 20+ years of accounting experience and an addiction to Quickbooks. She is new to the sport of Tennis, but is enjoying learning the game. Kay is mom to 3 brilliant, energetic kids,and her adorable daughter Dani can often be seen hanging out with mom at the club. Tracy van Halderen, began playing tennis at age 12 and played 3 years of varsity singles tennis a University High School in the Spokane valley. Tracy played tennis recreationally while attending Eastern Washington University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She then went on to teach pre-school age children ice skating at Eagles Ice-A-Rena for 5 years and has been involved in youth and women’s ice hockey for 16 years. Most recently Tracy has shifted her focus back to Tennis and has worked at the Spokane Racquet Club since 2008. Please stop by and say hello.

Zach Juhre has been working at SRC as part of the Desk Staff since January 2010. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 2010 and is currently attending Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC). He plays on their tennis team and plans to transfer after getting his AA Degree. Zach loves tennis and doesn’t mind filling in. Stop by and say hello.

Evan is a second year graduate student working on his Masters of Arts in Sport and Athletic Administration at Gonzaga University. He has obtained a Behavioral Science Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire Granit State. Coming from the East Coast via California, his time at SRC will focus on learning the skills of facility management. Evan enjoys tennis and is an avid hiker and snowboarder. Evan has two very athletic minded young boys, Vince (3) and Max (3 months). Excited to embark on a new adventure in sports -- stop by and say hi to Evan.

Madeleine Walsh recently graduated from University High School where she played tennis all four years. Maddie is currently attending Eastern Washington University with plans to double major in both Spanish and Chemistry with hopes of becoming a pediatric dentist. In her free time, Maddie enjoys playing tennis, reading, snowboarding, kayaking and anything else that allows her to be active outdoors. She is certified in water safety, lifeguarding, AED, CPR, First Aid and oxygen. Maddie joined the SRC family in 2011 where she was Lead Instructor for our Summer Swim Program and plans on continuing to teach next summer. Peter is currently the Head Coach of Gonzaga University's Men's Tennis and is USPTA certified. Prior to joining GU, MacDonald was a 4-year private contractor in Portland, OR, developing a high performance junior program and clinic for the Pacific Northwest's top tennis players. Earlier work included  head tennis professional in Gresham's Cascade Athletic Club and also serving as the assistant women's tennis coach at the University of Portland. MacDonald is a 1996 graduate of the University of Portland, earning his bachelors of science degree in business management.

Steve's teaching credentials include 2 MAs, a PhD in Education, and a twenty year history as a Division 1 NCAA coach responsible for seventeen nationally ranked teams. Steve also has had an impressive career as a player as a former NCAA All-American and on a #1 Southern California open doubles team.

Andy works with select juniors and tournament players.

Kevin joined SRC as Assistant Pro in December 2008. He graduated from EWU with a degree in Exercise Physiology. In 1998 received his Professional Tennis Register Certification. He worked as a Head Pro at 24-Hour Fitness in Spokane for two years. He also was Lead Assistant Pro at Spokane Athletic Club for eight years. Kevin brings 20+ years of coaching children, juniors and adults. With 15 years of varsity high school experience, Kevin helped several players go on to play various levels of collegiate tennis.

Brian Heimbecker joined the SRC teaching staff in 2004 and has been an assistant pro, Interim Head Pro as well as Interim Director of Tennis. Brian was a top high school player in Spokane as well as NWAACC champion from The Community Colleges of Spokane. Brian teaches all levels and ages and helps students have a great time on the court!
